Answer:
Yes, Pasitos Clinic requires the PCP’s referral in order request treatment authorization from the insurance. Pasitos Clinic must obtain the pediatricians signature on all evaluations and we the child’s pediatrician informed of treatment progress.
Question: What is early childhood development?
Answer:
Early childhood development therapy looks at how a child develops during their life’s most significant periods, from birth to the age of 5 years. During this time, children may display delays in speech and cognitive development or signs of autism spectrum disorder. As an early childhood development center, Pasitos Clinic can diagnose and treat many early childhood development delays and disabilities.
Question: How many treatment hours per week will my child receive?
Answer:
Treatment hours are determined depending on the pediatrician’s request for treatment and on the out-come results of the child’s treatment evaluation. It could be from two to six hours per week worth of treatment interventions.
Question: How is Pasitos Clinic different from other clinics?
Answer:
Pasitos Clinic understands the difficulty family’s face when raising a child diagnosed with a developmental disorder. Pasitos Clinic offers a unique approach by facilitating support to assist with acceptance and emotional stress for the parents. Question: May I invite my spouse to attend the treatment sessions so that he/she may receive the information regarding my child’s condition you are providing to me?

Pasitos Clinic is a family service rehabilitation clinic that believes in educating and informing the child’s family on symptoms, characteristics and stereotyped behaviors regarding the child’s developmental condition. Pasitos Clinic encourages and supports family member’s involvement in the rehabilitation of the child. The more family-caregivers are involved and willing to learn about strategies, techniques and skills being taught the better chance the child has of rehabilitating.
Question: Is autism curable?
Answer:
Unfortunately, research indicates there is no known cured for autism disorder. Fortunately, research supports the view that children who are diagnosed early and start intensive intervention via a multi-treatment approach have been known to makes progress and symptoms are minimized and reduced.
Question: What does autism affect?
Answer:
Research tells us that autism is a neurological brain disease. Children with autism demonstrate language impairments, problems with fine and gross motor skills. Children in the autism spectrum have difficulty managing their sensory input. Children are sensitive to light, noise and touch, their smell is heightened, they are not able to stand the sound of vacuum cleaners, blenders or tolerate hair-cuts and may need to flap their hand. They have problems regulating emotions, have sleep problems, anxiety, obsessive compulsive tendencies, and demonstrate social skills.
Question: Do you make contact with school teachers?

Pasitos Clinic believes in the importance of coordinating treatment progress with schools and any other community treatment agencies the child is receiving treatment from. Pasitos Clinic Social Worker will attend special educational meetings at school.
